Humberside Police officer accused of drinking 'intoxicating liquor' while at work

A Yorkshire police officer is appearing before a misconduct panel after it is alleged he drunk alcohol while at work.

The Humberside Police officer, who has not been identified, is appearing before a private hearing due to concerns for his welfare and safety, the force said.

It is alleged he drunk alcohol while on duty and a place of work.

A statement on the force’s website said: "It is alleged that the officer’s conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour contrary to Regulation 5 and Schedule 2 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 in respect of Discreditable Conduct and Fitness for Duty.

"The allegations relate to drinking intoxicating liquor whilst on duty and at a place of work. A screening breath test reading indicated that the officer was over the limit for police officers on duty. A further screening test, some weeks later, also indicated that the officer was over the limit for police officers on duty.
