Nissan offer springtime check and care kit

NISSAN is enticing showroom traffic with a £15 springtime check on your car. The 20-point check is only for Nissans – and in return you get a car-care kit retailing at £20.

KIA had record profits of £6.5bn in the first quarter, selling 635,000 vehicles. However, sales in its home market were unchanged. It has no plans to bring its flagship K9 saloon to the UK. The rear-wheel-drive five-metre long super saloon has an eight speed automatic gearbox and a 290ps 3.8 litre V6 petrol engine.

HONDA welcomed 500 new workers (aka associates) at its Swindon factory to meet demand for the new Civic, the Jazz, its new small diesel engine and the next CR-V. It now employs 3,500 as it doubles production to 180,000 this year.

SUBARU’s BRZ rear-drive sports coupé will cost from £24,995 when it brings some glamour to the brand’s showrooms this summer. The model uses the familiar flat-four two-litre petrol engine and the company also makes the similar GT 86 for Toyota.

WITH replacement car keys so complicated that they can cost hundreds of pounds to replace it might be worth taking out specialist cover if your household policy carries a hefty excess. “Vehicle manufacturers make programming keys so complex that drivers have to go to dealers for replacements,” says David Ross of Keycare.

TYRES with insufficient air pressure seriously waste fuel because of increased rolling resistance. A survey of 46,000 vehicles in 11 European countries found that 63 per cent were under inflated, 17.5 per cent were seriously short on air and 4.3 per cent were a high safety risk.
