The main event arena will be filled with family entertainment including fun fair, motor dealers, trade stands, collectables, crafts and food stands.

Lisa Bradbury, The Yorkshire Post’s event manager, said: “This was a new venue for us after 20-odd years at Harewood House, and it was a very successful day.

“The cars were a big attraction, obviously, but the Spitfire created a lot of interest too.

“Castle Howard created a great backdrop for the event.”

The event originally startedlife as a Classic Car Rally and it has expanded over the years to feature more entertainment and make it a fun packed day for all the family.

Castle Howard is a private residence, and has been the home of the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for 300 years. It is not a true castle, but this term is also used for English country houses erected on the site of a former military castle.
