Dressed for a right Royal occasion

Candy Theakston, and her husband, Yorkshire Agricultural Society chairman Simon, will help welcome HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall when they visit the Great Yorkshire Show next week.

Deciding what to wear for the occasion was always going to be challenging, so Mrs Theakston called on the expertise of Harrogate-based image consultant Fran Trowell.

Mrs Theakston knows the Great Yorkshire Show extremely well, having worked as a steward at England’s premier agricultural event for the past 25 years.

With her varied day, she has to be dressed for all occasions – and she often turns to her wardrobe staples to fit the bill.

But when it was announced that the Royal couple were to attend the show, which runs from next Tuesday to Thursday, Mrs Theakston knew she needed the help of Mrs Trowell.

A member of the renowned Alicia Kite Academy, Fran spent time with Mrs Theakston, working with her existing wardrobe as well as adding a few key items.

“Fran puts the fun back into shopping, and encourages you to focus on your good points, rather than the negative ones,” said Mrs Theakston, who lives in Harrogate.

“I have made some huge shopping mistakes over the years – but with Fran’s help I am delighted with the outfit I will be wearing. I already had some hats, and she helped me chose an outfit that would go perfectly with what I had.”
