Ilkley: Martinez Wines in Ilkley has a packed programme this autumn, so get on their mailing list. A good place to start is The Sipping Society (£10) which meets on the first Tuesday of every month. Otley: Chez Vins in Otley will host a Portuguese Gourmet evening at The Cut Waterside Restaurant in Shipley on Tuesday, November 2. This will be a five-course meal, with all wines, and should cost considerably more than its ticket price of 45, however sponsorship means that the price is discounted. Tickets will sell out fast.

Chez Vins will also hold its Annual Tasting at Otley Courthouse on Friday November 12 from 5pm to 9.30pm. Tickets cost 10. For details ring David Lawson on 01943 466143.

Penistone: Penistone Court Wine Cellars will host a dinner at The Rose and Crown in Hoylandswaine with Nick Pentz, owner of Groote Poste winery in South Africa. Tickets cost 50, ring 01226 766037 for details.

Leeds: Brasserie 44 will hold a Guigal dinner on Wednesday, October 13 with Brett Crittenden leading a tasting. Tickets cost 49.50, available on 0113 234 3232. Latitude in The Calls will open wines from Jackson Estate and Alpha Zeta on Friday October 15 between 5pm and 7pm. Tasting is free.
