On the grapevine

This is the time of year when I keep a bottle of Manzanilla in the fridge, its crisp, sea-breeze freshness acts like an ice-cold shower for my taste buds at the end of the working day.

Now there is a book about this most individual of sherries from the bodegas of Sanlcar de Barameda. Written by Christopher Fielden and Javier Hidalgo, who has spent his career working for the family company which makes La Gitana, simply the best Manzanilla.

Manzanilla is published by Grub Street at 14.99. To order a copy from the Yorkshire Post Bookshop, call free on 0800 0153232 or go online at www.yorkshirepostbookshop.co.uk. P&P is 2.75.
