Mas des Mas Pinot Blanc 2010, Zucco Vineyard, Languedoc, Majestic down from £9.99 to £7.99 on multibuy: From the foothills of the Montagne Noire, this and has a restrained elegance. White pear and passionfuit flavours. Perfect with chicken and fish.

South African Fairtrade Pinotage 2010, Asda, down from £6.98 to £5 until March 13: Soft, ripe, plump damson fruit with none of the road-tar flavours that used to be associated with this grape. A good mid-week wine to put alongside cheese, red meat or pasta.

Choccochino Shiraz 2008, South Africa, Tesco, down from £8.49 to £6.49 until March 31: Take a good quality Shiraz and put it in deep-toasted oak and you get this, a wine that has all the fruit of the grape, overlaid with a chocolate-sprinkled cappuccino taste.
