French Connection Languedoc 2009, Morrisons Down from 8.49 to 4.24 until February 6: Now hitting its comfort zone for quality and price, this is a straightforward, fruity wine, full of berry flavours with a light, easy-quaffing style. Great with a Wednesday night supper.

Artesano de Argento Malbec 2009, Argentina, Tesco down from 6.99 to 5 until February 22: I thought this was a good wine at its full price, so grab some now while it is on offer. Ripe, deep, complex fruit, with enough power to keep out the winter chills.
