Canaletto Primitivo 2008, Puglia, Italy, Waitrose, down from 6.49 to 4.86 until December 7: Bring some southern Italian sunshine to your table with this ripe, blueberry and chocolate-infused wine. Enjoy with pasta and casseroles.

Taste the difference with Casablanca Valley Chilean Pinot Noir, Sainsbury, down from 7.99 to 5.99 until December 14: Rather more flavour and structure than many other Chilean Pinots.This one has rounded raspberry and savoury fruit with a hint of iron filings.

Sainsbury Blanc de Noirs Champagne, down from 17.29 to 15 until December 31: This Sainsbury champagne is their regular blend with round, soft, yeasty complexity and I would be happy to drink it. Stock up, VAT goes up in January.
