Peter Lehmann Clancy's 2006 Barossa Valley, Australia, Waitrose, down from 8.49 to 6.79 until June 8. A delicious blend of Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot with just a whisper of oak to add complexity. The offer price brings this wine into barbecue territory, but it is good enough for dinner parties, too.

Noster Incial DO 2005, Priorat, Spain, Oddbins, 11.99. A welcome return to old-school winemaking with deep, gutsy plummy favours, wrapped up in earthy complexity. A terrific Grenache-dominated wine that needs real meat to cope with its sheer concentration.
