Here is this week's top pick of good value bottles to savour

Inycon Fiano 2008, Sicily, Waitrose down from 6.49 to 4.86 until May 11. Crisper and lighter than many others I have tasted, this Fiano has aromatic peach and pear notes. It is a great wine for spring into summer dining, especially good teamed up with mussels and creamy pasta dishes.

Lost Sheep Chardonnay 2009, Australia, Marks and Spencer, down from 6.99 to 4.99 until May 3. Bright pineapple-edged fruit, without the usual dollop of oak in this good-value South Australian wine. Great as an end of the day restorative.

Petit Rimauresq Ros 2008 Ctes de Provence, Waitrose, down from 8.99 to 6.74 until May 11. On first taste, Provence Ross seem far too light and delicate for the money, but you have to take time to appreciate the texture and elegance of these wines. Enjoy with salmon, cold chicken and light pasta dishes.

Muriel Rioja Reserva 2005, Spain, Co-op, down from 9.99 to 4.99 until April 13. I used to have an Aunt Muriel so the name of this wine always makes me chuckle. Its soft mellow, oaky fruit is comfortable at 4.99. Buy it now.
