Arco de Esporo 2008 Alentejo, Portugal, Waitrose, down from 9.99 to 7.49 until March 16. Sweet, juicy, damsony fruit wrapped up in a savoury, meaty, deep-flavoured wine. Portuguese wines can be difficult but not this one. Team this with a meaty casserole or a rump steak.

Taittinger Brut Reserve NV Champagne, Tesco down from 33.88 to 23.88 until February 23. These offers can't last for ever so buy now. Taittinger has a delicious clean, crisp, yeasty style and if you buy it now it will keep for a couple of years, improving in flavour.
