Held in Millennium Square, Leeds, the show, which is free to the public, will bring to the city, for the first time, more than 100 stallholders from across the UK.

The Yorkshire Food and Drink show, managed in partnership between the Yorkshire Post, Marketing Leeds and Leeds City Council, is the centrepiece of the innovative festival.

A huge array of local producers, as well as stallholders from across the UK, will all offer something unique.

Among the cheese, chutney and wine stalls, there will also be a street of sellers from deliciouslyorkshire, the organisation which celebrates and promotes the distinctiveness, quality and the variety of food and drink that is produced in Yorkshire and the Humber and served in some of the areas top restaurants.

As part of the wider festival, The Taste of Spain exhibition will also bring to Leeds city centre a little corner of Spanish sun and frivolity.

Gastronomes in the crowds will be well catered for with the obligatory paella on sale as well as northern Spain’s olive oil, olives, nuts and dried fruits, and the Balearic Islands’ cheese and wine. Music lovers, too, will be able to enjoy live flamenco bands and Spanish pop-rock.

Alongside the market, the festival brings together a jam-packed calendar of events, including a theatre kitchen with cookery demonstrations in Millennium Square, masterclasses with top chefs, kids’ pizza making and medieval cookery.

All this will be accompanied by a series of special offers and promotions by Leeds restaurants and hotels so that everyone in the city has something to get their teeth into.

A giant green and purple theatre kitchen will not be missed either with live, themed, cookery demonstrations throughout each of the three days.

On Friday, the stage is given to showcase the best of Leeds’ family-friendly eateries, while on Saturday, get your taste buds ready for a fusion of international cuisine.

Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday without a good roast dinner and there will be chefs a plenty lining up to prove they can prepare the very best.

All of the ‘performers’’ will use local produce.
