The grade II listed house, which dates from 1535, retains many of its period features, including original wood panelling, an oak staircase, fireplaces and leaded and stone mullioned windows. The property, which comes with 11 acres of land, also has an adjacent cottage

Over the past 16 years since buying the hall, the owners have sensitively updated and redecorated it. Outside, they have built new patios and modernised the courtyard.

Sugworth Hall is accessed via electrically operated, wrought iron gates, which provide access to a long driveway shared by four cottages, which form this idyllic hamlet.

The hall is set within fabulous grounds, which include a tennis court, several lawns, herbaceous borders rhododendrons, a private woodland with a tiered waterfall, courtyard and patio seating areas. There is parking for several cars, along with converted outbuildings for further parking, garden storage and a log store.

The adjoining cottage has a living room, dining kitchen, utility/downstairs WC, one double bedroom and a large bathroom.

Nicola Spencer of Spencers Estate Agents says: “Sugworth Hall is in a fabulous rural position overlooking Strines Reservoir. It is in the heart of beautiful, open countryside but is a short drive away from Lodgemoor and Crosspool and just over 10 miles to the centre of Sheffield.
