Across the different council areas in Yorkshire, all of them saw an increase in house prices between September 2019 and September 2020, with Richmondshire the only area to see prices fall. The district saw a -0.9 per cent drop in the average house price from £241,731 to £239,592.
Barnsley, Hull and Calderdale all grew by less than one per cent, and here is how the rest of the Yorkshire areas fared.
1. Harrogate
House prices increased by 7.4 per cent on average in Harrogate, from £333,900 to £358,595
2. Leeds
House prices also grew by more than seven per cent in Leeds, from £214,028 to £229,216
3. Hambleton
The average price of a house in Hambleton is now £272,854, up 3.9 per cent from £262,724
4. Doncaster
Average house prices in Doncaster also rose by almost four per cent, from £152,467 to £158,094
