Hide AdAuctioneer James Pank says: “If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to construct your own ‘Grand Design’, now is the time to act.”
The land is located off Market Weighton Road and lies between Market Weighton and Holme on Spalding Moor in East Yorkshire.
The approved design is by Domus Architecture and the plot is owned by Keyland, the property trading arm of the Kelda Group and a sister company of Yorkshire Water. The planning consultant for the scheme was Lichfields, Leeds.
The proposed dwelling, which sits in the large reservoir tank, has large areas of glazing, three reception rooms, four bedrooms and a home office . The smaller reservoir has been allocated for parking and stores.

Hide AdThe plans utilise the existing tank and its internal columns and the house and garage will be topped with green, sedum roofs and should blend in with the surrounding grass banking. Vertical timber fins envelop the property and Domus Architecture say they echo the trees
that surround the site.
A spokesman for Lichfields adds: “The fins provide shading but their primary purpose is to visibly screen the house and minimise the risk of the glazing that could reflect light and draw attention to the building within the landscape.”
Other interesting lots in the Auction House sale include Thornton filter house, near Bradford, which sits on a plot of 0.95 acres. It has a guide price of £95,000 and comprises the main filter house, two outbuildings and the old water tanks.
St Paul’s Church, Denholme, is offered at a guide price of £80,000 to £90,000 and comes with planning permission to convert into a six-bedroom home.
