“We incorporated a lot of ironwork and used Tom Heys, an artist blacksmith of Flaxton Forge, to make it,” says Angela, who adds: “We have tried to be sympathetic to the history of the mill.”

Inside, the ground floor has an entrance hall with cloakroom, a utility room and an open plan living/dining kitchen with steps up to a gallery.

On the lower ground floor is a sitting room with some of the original workings of the mill encased in glass. There is also a large study/snug.
