Housebuilder Beal Homes has launched an innovative support package to help homebuyers who face having their lives and future plans put on hold by the coronavirus crisis.

The “Helping you make your move” package brings together a combination of assistance to overcome current challenges in the housing market. While the Covid-19 emergency has made it difficult for some people to move home, others still need to, for reasons such as changed domestic circumstances, growing families or work relocation.

Chief Executive Richard Beal said: “We appreciate this is a rapidly-changing situation which has affected people’s lives in so many ways and made it more difficult than previously to move home. But this is where we can come in with our comprehensive, tailored package of support.”

East Yorkshire-based Beal’s package of help and reassurance includes a part exchange scheme that includes purchasing the buyer’s existing property and support to move into their new Beal home and a Smooth Move scheme that will take care of much of the process of buying and selling, so customers can be assured of a stress-free move.

It is also offering Flexible Exchange, which has seen Beal pledge to be accommodating and understanding on contract exchanges dates in the current circumstances. Its Launch Pad will also be useful. It is an initiative, on selected plots, to help first-time buyers take their first step on the property ladder, and includes £5,000 towards their deposit or to spend on extras and upgrades on their new home, as well as up to £1,000 towards legal fees.

The company is also offering six months’ mortgage paid on selected, ready-to-move-into view homes and Beal will guide customers on how they can benefit from the Help to Buy and can put buyers in touch with an independent mortgage advisor, who will provide expert advice on funding.

Cesar and Hedani Lopez recently moved into their four bedroom home at Beal’s The Paddocks development in Hessle, East Yorkshire, with their nine-year-old son, Sebastian. They used Beal’s Smooth Move service to sell their previous Beal home, while also benefiting from Help to Buy.

Mr Lopez said: “The Beal sales team is well equipped to deal with the current situation. We live in difficult, unprecedented times at the moment, but Beal has great experience of helping people move.”

Sue Waudby, Sales and Marketing Director at the family-owned housebuilder, said: “Although our head office and marketing suites are currently closed and construction has been halted on our developments until further notice, to safeguard the health and safety of staff and customers, we remain very much open for business.

“We may be looking after our customers differently, but we are doing absolutely everything we can to help people make the moves they need or want to make.”

Beal has also introduced a new five per cent discount for all NHS workers. Sue Waudby said: “The discount is not time limited, so NHS staff will be able to benefit from it when this very difficult period has come to an end.”
