A time warp property, which has almost been consumed by trees and vegetation, will go under the hammer at Auction House West Yorkshire’s sale on Wednesday, May 17.

The two bedroom bungalow in Aberford Road, Stanley, near Wakefield, sits in a third of an acre of grass and woodland and is almost impenetrable thanks to climbing plants.

The interior decor is a mix of of original 1940s combined with a 1970s style in a later extension. The elderly man who lived there has passed away and the property is being sold by executors of his estate.

James Pank of Auction House says most would-be buyers are looking at it as apotential building plot: “At one point in history this was clearly a well cared for home with evidence of landscaping in the grounds. The bungalow is now very

rundown and with that comes the opportunity to possibly develop the site. It’s in a good location about ¼ mile from the M62.”

The property has a guide price of £130,000 to £140,000 and is only available to cash buyers as it’s not mortgageable. Visit
