Glowing reports for the Big Day

When Kate Moss married Jamie Hince last week, she positively glowed, and not just with pre-nuptial joy.

Radiant skin is definitely the most important beauty must-have for all brides-to-be, no matter whether the bride is in the first flush or more mature, on her second, third (who knows?) wedding.

The same applies to all wedding guests, especially bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride and groom.

A facial is the way to go, whether at home or, even better, at a fabulously relaxing beauty spa, and many now do packages for the whole bridal party.

There’s a newly opened spa at Rudding Park Hotel near Harrogate and, as the hotel is famed for staging rather fabulous weddings, it’s a great addition. Brides-to-be could try the Relax in Radiance facial, £80 minutes from £80, with full body and face exfoliation and soothing head massage. Mothers meanwhile couldgo for the Carita Pro-Lift Diamond facial, from £90, which gives an immediate lifted and firmed effect to brows and face contours.

There’s not point in a great facial if you then go on to get your Big Day make-up all wrong.

Bobbi Brown, which helped out at the recent Royal wedding, has the following make-up tips for brides:

Don’t use concealer on the eyelids as it will cause eye make-up to crease.

Don’t wear frosted, shiny or sparkly shadows as they will reflect camera flash.

Don’t apply shimmer all over the face – one or two accents are enough.

The Spa at Rudding Park is on 01423 871350.
