Tourism body chief to discuss post-Olympics campaign for Yorkshire

THE head of a national tourism organisation will be among the speakers at an event in one of Yorkshire’s most popular destinations next month.

James Berresford, the chief executive of VisitEngland, will discuss the organisation’s campaign strategy following London 2012 at the Tourism Society Yorkshire event in York on Friday, September 7.

Tourism Society Yorkshire’s chairman, John Gallery, told the Yorkshire Post: “We are very pleased that James has agreed to come to Yorkshire again to update colleagues on the national campaign following the huge success of the London 2012 
Olympic Games in which Yorkshire’s athletes played such a huge part.

“There are opportunities to capitalise on the legacy of the Games and James will share ideas, listen to comments and explain how Yorkshire will benefit.”

Also speaking at the lunch will be former BBC and Sky Television presenter Julia Kay, and Annie Litmanen, who will discuss a new opportunity for training workshops with the Disney Institute in Yorkshire
