On a leave of absence from the police force, DCI John Luther is laying low in a rundown cottage. However, a visit from colleagues at the Met brings a piece of news that draws him back to London in search of the truth. Meanwhile, a cannibal serial killer has struck the city and Luther is soon racing against the clock to stop them before they strike again.

The World’s Most Expensive Christmas, Channel 5, 9pm

Documentary following suppliers who work for the super-rich, including Frances Hallworth-Noble’s London Concierge Company. They offer a bespoke service to clients who are too busy to manage details of their own lives, and luxurious goods offered by their suppliers includes handmade sweets selling for £800 a box and diamond-encrusted USB memory sticks selling for £22,950.

An evil queen learns that her reign will last for ever if she kills a princess, so sends a renowned warrior to find her. However, he comes to realise his mistress’s evil ways, and instead trains his intended victim to fight so they can bring the tyrant’s rule to an end.
