Man left blind in one eye speaks of devastating robbery as police appeal in bid to find violent attackers two years on

A man who lost his sight in his right eye following a nasty assault has spoken for the first time of how the attack has changed his life, as police re-appeal for information two years on to find those responsible.

The man, who does not want to be named for his own safety, was attacked and robbed in an unprovoked assault back on April 16, 2018.

Not only did he go blind in one eye as a result of the attack, he also had to wear a pot on his arm for 11 months due to the injuries he sustained.

The 42-year-old said: "What happened that night still affects me now.

"I suffer from flashbacks and depression and I am constantly looking over my shoulder.

"It has had a huge impact on me, my life and my livelihood. I lost my sight in my right eye and I was in pot for 11 months because of the injuries to my arm."

The man was attacked at premises on Stockshill Road, Scunthorpe, shortly after 8pm on April 16.

Humberside Police have carried out extensive enquiries since then. A man was arrested and charged for the attack but detectives have not been able to identify a further two men captured on CCTV at the time.

"Through our enquiries so far, one man was charged with the offence, however we still have two suspects that we need to appeal for help to identify.

“We continue to believe that those involved in the incident may have links to both Devon and Cornwall and we’re hopeful that by re-releasing these images we may reach people who have not previously seen our appeals.

"Someone out there knows who these men are and I want to appeal for those people who do to get in touch."
