13pc of men have no driving licence

As many as 13 per cent of British men do not have a driving licence, according to a poll.

A third of those who do not drive blame the high expense of driving lessons for not getting behind the wheel, the survey by insurance company ibuyeco found.

A fifth said they felt under pressure to drive as it was the “done thing”, with 44 per cent of women surveyed saying they expected a man to have a licence.
