SUSPECTED heroin with an estimated street value of more than £1 million has been seized in Bradford.
A 28 year old man has been arrested in connection with the find and is currently on bail.
Officers pounced after a man was spotted in city’s the Bowling Back Lane last Friday, near a VW vehicle outside an industrial unit. Searches inside uncovered a bag containing suspected Class A drugs.
Chief Insp Damien Miller said: “We are determined to tackle drugs and the crime that is associated with its supply and possession.
“Targeting drug dealing on the streets for instance is one of the local priorities which have been set by the Bowling, Barkerend and Bradford Moor Neighbourhood Policing Team after consultation with community.
“This is complimented by the many proactive operations which have taken place in recent months focusing specifically on these issues.
“Last month for instance, Operation Smartwood saw over 15 arrests and over £30,000 in drugs seized. Similarly, Operation Sabredale in July saw £438,000 worth of Class A and Class B drugs recovered.”
