This video shows the view from the cab of a snow plough as it clears some of the highest passes in Yorkshire.

Driver Thomas Beresford was ploughing the route between Fleet Moss and Oughtershaw earlier today.

He and his vehicle rescued both a van and a school minibus that were stranded in deep drifts.

Last night there were 5ft-high drifts and blizzard conditions on Fleet Moss near Hawes, which is the highest road in Yorkshire.

After weeks of mild weather, winter returned with a vengeance over the weekend, bringing deep snow to upland areas and lighter flurries in Leeds.

Yellow weather warnings are still in force.
