Abbey honours students
MORE than 400 people are expected to pack into historic Selby Abbey tonight to honour some of the brightest young minds across the area.
Selby College's 18th annual awards evening, held to honour the achievements of students from the top performing North Yorkshire college over the past year, will also feature the Dean of Ripon, Keith Jukes, the former vicar of Selby Abbey, as guest speaker.
Guests and award winners will be welcomed into the Abbey by the choir singing a selection of Christmas Carols, while former Selby College student Victoria Manders-Wood and 15-year-old harpist Catherine Mason will perform during the ceremony.
