Abbey walks boost hospice
The snowy and atmospheric English Heritage's Roche Abbey near Maltby, South Yorkshire, was the venue yesterday for three guided walks organised by Heritage Inspired which left from the historic churches of Maltby St Bartholomew's, Laughton All Saints' and Firbeck St Martin's.
People arrived for mulled drinks, mince pies and carol singing before walking back again, with Thurcroft Welfare Brass Band providing the music and all proceeds going to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
