A high-level delegation of academics from the University of Sheffield is visiting Japan as part of its commitment to internationalise higher education, and to strengthen academic and industrial links to address global challenges.
Led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Keith Burnett, the professorial team includes leading international experts in the fields of sustainability, energy, manufacturing and healthcare technologies.
University of Sheffield Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Keith Burnett said: “We are delighted to have been invited to Japan, and particularly to share our research and perspectives with our academic colleagues at The University of Tokyo.
“We are very conscious that we are visiting Japan at a crucial time for its universities, as the country’s leadership thinks seriously about how to internationalise its higher education. The University of Sheffield is keen to be a committed partner in that process.”
