Acoustic acts to appear at city cathedral

FOR the second year running, Sheffield’s 600-year-old cathedral is set to host musical acts during the Tramlines music festival.

The free festival, which runs from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22, will feature a line-up including Roots Manuva, We Are Scientists and Ms Dynamite.

And, this year, three days of acoustic music will be hosted at the cathedral, in Church Street.

Cathedral manager Carl Hutton said: “Last year was the first time the cathedral took part in Tramlines and it was an absolute success.

“This year we are looking to build on last year’s event with a three-day programme of acoustic music.

“We are hoping that lots of people check out both the music programme but also take time to explore the cathedral.”

He added: “Tramlines is an extraordinary event that supports local music, local venues and music fans.”
