Actress becomes a calendar girl

Actress and comedienne Catherine Tate provided a touch of glamour for a charity calendar photo shoot.

She teamed up with Huddersfield Giants rugby players for the 2011 movie-themed calendar which is raising money for The Laura Crane Trust, of which she is patron.

Last year's Giants calendar raised over 8,000 for the Trust, which funds research into cancers that affect young people. The Dr Who actress took part in eight calendar shots including scenes from Top Gun and a tongue-in-cheek Dr Who shot with Giants player Andy Raleigh. Raleigh, the Trust's youth ambassador, said: "Catherine is an amazing lady who continually works hard in the background for the charity."

The 7 calendars can be ordered through www.lauracranetrust.org/store
