Advice on hand for region's carers

A ROADSHOW will be touring Hull next week to give advice to carers.

Carers Centre Hull together with library and health staff will be promoting carers' services in the city from onboard the City of Hull & Humber Environment Forum bus.

Carers are being encouraged to take part in a programme aimed at helping them help themselves, as well as loved ones.

In the 2001 census 23,000 people living in Hull declared themselves as carers, but the Carers Centre says the likelihood is that there are many more.

Co-ordinator Sam Chaney said: "A lot of people look after family and friends without knowing that there is advice and support there for them when they need it."

The roadshow will visit Tesco, Hall Road, between 10am and 4pm next Tuesday, Holderness Road Retail Park next Wednesday between 10am and 2.30pm and Longhill Children's Centre the same day between 3pm and 4pm. On Thursday it will be at St Stephen's, Ferensway, between 10am and 4pm and on Friday at Northpoint Shopping Centre, Bransholme between 10am and 2.30pm and from 3pm to 4pm at Park Children's Centre. On Saturday it will be at Queen Victoria Square, city centre, from 10am to 4pm.
