Age and the
minimum wage

Have your say

From: Tim Mickleburgh, Boulevard Avenue, Grimsby.

One of the best things the last Labour government did was to introduce the minimum wage. But why is there a different rate depending on age?

Not only does this go against the concept of everyone doing the same job getting the same wage, it acts as an incentive for employers to discriminate against those aged 25 plus who have to be paid more.

THE smoking ban has massively improved the nation’s health/happiness, and reduced the NHS budget. Now we must work on obesity: it too impacts on health/happiness and threatens to cripple the NHS.
