A chartered surveyor found a way to the stars despite being cheated out of his dream of becoming a pilot by illness – and marrying a woman determined to keep both feet on the ground.
Steve Wood, above with his wife Belinda, joined the jet set even though Mrs Wood cannot stand flying. After building his own plane and learning to fly in his 60s he is due to be confirmed as the first man to break 100 aviation world speed records.
