Air ambulance lands on beach after woman falls down cliff in Yorkshire

The air ambulance and coastguard helped to rescue a woman who fell down a cliff today in Yorkshire.

Humber Coastguard and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to the incident at Atwick shortly before 3pm this afternoon.

On arrival a woman was found to have fallen down the cliff - sustaining serious injuries.

Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 912 were requested to help with casualty extraction due to the casualties condition and location, the coastguard said.

Coastguards and the ambulance crew stabilised the condition of the woman.

She was transported by helicopter to Hull Royal Infirmary.

The coastguard said: "In a coastal emergency, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard'
