Alert over phone charge scam
Police have issued a telephone fraud warning for East Yorkshire after two women in Hull and three men in the district received calls claiming to seek payments on behalf of the telecomms firm Kingston Communications.
The hoaxers are described as “particularly persistent, keeping the lines open when demands for payment are refused
The company said the calls are bogus and it does not ask people to provide credit card details on the telephone.
