All aboard for Hogwarts fun

Martyn Halman, from the collections department at the National Railway Museum (NRM), does his stint cleaning the Hogwarts Castle steam engine in preparation for its display this summer.

The locomotive which stars in the popular Harry Potter films will be on display throughout the summer holidays – and at the centre of a Wizard Weekend being held at the York museum on August 14 and 15.

The National Railway Museum's Wizard Weekend will feature an owl display by the Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre at Sion Hill Hall and performances by magical wizard characters.

Highlights of the weekend will include a special appearance by Matthew Lewis, the actor who plays Neville Longbottom in the hit films. He will be at the museum from 10am to 1pm on the Sunday. One lucky competition winner will be given the opportunity to interview him while he's at the museum. The interview will then be featured on the National Railway Museum website, with a DVD copy to the winner. To enter visit www.nrm.org.uk/wizardweekend.
