Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband charged with burglary in Leeds

THE ex-husband of pop singer Amy Winehouse appeared in court in Leeds today to answer a burglary charge.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 28, dressed in a grey jumper and navy tracksuit bottoms, was supported by his pregnant partner Sarah Aspin as he appeared alongside co-accused Christopher Sylvester, 29, charged with possession of an imitation firearm, burglary and fraudulent use of a vehicle.

Fielder-Civil, who gave his address as that of his parents in Ruskington, Lincs., and Sylvester, of Leeds, were both charged on February 28 after an officer saw two men acting suspiciously and stopped them in a car, the court heard.

The pair are charged with possessing an imitation gun and burglary of a dwelling in which electrical items and jewellery worth up to £4,000 was taken.

Melanie Ibbeston, prosecuting, told Leeds Magistrates Court that the pair were travelling in a rented Vauxhall Corsa, and the number plate of the car had been changed.

District Judge Christopher Darnton remanded the pair into custody to appear before Leeds Crown Court next month.

Fielder-Civil, a former music video assistant, married Miss Winehouse in May 2007 in Miami. They divorced in 2009 after a troubled on-off relationship.
