Appeal after crash biker dies

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage motorcyclist died in a collision with a lorry.

The 18-year-old man from Goole was riding his black Honda bike along the A614 Selby Road towards Selby at 3.10pm on Tuesday when he attempted to overtake a lorry which had started to turn right at the junction with Hadds Lane, Thorne, near Doncaster. The teenager was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 61-year-old man from Doncaster who was driving the white and blue heavy tractor unit was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention and has been bailed pending further inquires.
