Appeal after man falls from bridge

POLICE are appealing for information after a man fell from a footbridge onto a busy Leeds road.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, fell from the bridge crossing the A64 York Road close to the junction with Harehills Lane at around 7.10pm on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was last night described as serious.

The man’s name remains unknown and police are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to shed light on his identity.

Officers have him described as being a white male in his mid to late 20s. He is between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in, of slim to medium build and clean shaven.

The man has brown hair, green- or hazel-coloured eyes and a distinctive V-shaped scar close to his mouth.

At the time of his fall he was dressed in a Superdry-branded black hooded jacket, a black polo shirt and blue jeans. He was also wearing black Adidas trainers in a size nine.
