Appeal after sex attack on woman

A MAN armed with a knife carried out a serious sex attack on a woman in Bradford.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was walking along City Road at its junction with Menstone Street, at 4am on Monday, when she was approached by a man riding a bicycle.

Walking down a nearby passageway the man took what is believed to be a knife from his rucksack and threatened her.

He then subjected her to a serious sexual assault before she managed to get away uninjured.

Det Chief Insp, Lisa Griffin, leading the investigation said: “This was clearly a terrifying ordeal for the victim and specialist officers are working closely with her to establish the identity of her attacker.

“He is described as white, around 25 years old, around 5ft 7in tall, of broad build and was wearing a woolly hat and a rucksack.

“As he was on a bike at the time, people in the area may remember this man and we would like to hear from those people immediately.

“We are currently treating this as an isolated incident and studying CCTV from the area as part of our inquiries.”
