The assault happened outside York Station when the 21-year-old victim, who is from Scarborough and was with a group of friends, was verbally abused and threatened by two men before he was punched in the face.

He suffered cuts to his nose and cheek and a bleeding nose.

Officers from British Transport Police are investigating the attack, which happened outside Coopers Bar at the station at about 9.15pm on Saturday, August 7, although details were only released yesterday.
