A MAN who killed a former paratrooper with one punch has had his eight-year jail term reduced on appeal.

Daniel Duckworth, 36, was made the subject of a 13-year extended sentence at Bradford Crown Court last December after a jury convicted him of the manslaughter of Richard Reynolds in a Sowerby Bridge street.

After a hearing at the Court of Appeal yesterday, three judges reduced the eight years to six.

Mr Reynolds, 42, was drinking with a friend in May 2011 when they talked to Duckworth’s fiancée because she looked upset.

Duckworth stormed over and punched Mr Reynolds in the face breaking his jaw and knocking him unconscious. He died 12 days later.
