Appeal over man, 79, in death plunge

Police in South Yorkshire are appealing for information after a Sheffield pensioner fell from a bridge onto a busy road and was hit by a car.

The 79-year-old man, from Richmond, died after falling from Richmond Road bridge onto the A57 at about 10.15am last Friday. He was hit by a silver Ford Fiesta being driven by a 68-year-old man from Eckington. Witnesses should call 0114 2202970.
