Appeal to public over burglary spree

POLICE in North East Lincolnshire are appealing for help in identifying burglars who have carried out a spate of thefts in the last fortnight.

There have been 30 burglaries in the Fiveways, Cleethorpes and Humberston wards during this time, prompting a targeted Humberside Police response.

But the force said it needed the public's help to combat the problem.

Insp Mel Christie said: "We can't solve this problem alone. We are appealing for help from the public as we work to identify any possible suspects.

"All we ask is that any suspicious activity or anyone seen to be paying close attention to properties in certain areas is reported to police right away as this could enable us to respond to an area and arrest a suspect in the act.

"Anyone looking to report such activity can do so by calling either Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
