Appeal to stop surgery closing

Nearly 300 people have signed a petition to try and save a branch surgery which has operated out of an East Riding village hall since the 1950s.

The petition, which will come before East Riding councillors next Tuesday, says closing the surgery at Little Weighton, which a doctor runs for an hour, two afternoons a week, would be “devastating” for 600 patients, many of whom are elderly and have no transport. Campaigners argue that local services should be enhanced rather than cut.
