Archbishop sets out on the degree trail at two universities in two days
Dr John Sentamu swapped his vestments for a traditional gown and mortar board as he was made a doctor of York University at a graduation ceremony yesterday.
Dr Sentamu, who studied law and became a judge in the country of his birth, Uganda, will also be awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Leeds University today.

Hide AdCriticism of Idi Amin's regime for its violation of human rights and a decision to ignore orders not to jail soldiers led to Dr Sentamu's arrest and subsequent departure to the UK in 1974.
Speaking as he received the doctorate in York yesterday, he said: "It is a great personal honour for me to be receiving this honorary degree in the wonderful grounds of one of the top 10 universities in the UK."
Marks & Spencer chairman Sir Stuart Rose and BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson are also receiving honorary degrees from Leeds University today.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Sheffield United Football Club, Kevin McCabe, will receive an honorary degree at Sheffield University next week.
