Arrest in hunt for rapist

The 30-year-old victim described her attacker as wearing a dark pinstripe shirt, black waistcoat, a pink tie and smart shoes.

She met him outside a nightclub in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, at about 2.10am on Sunday and they walked off together.

As they got to a nearby gated alleyway, the offender asked for sex but when she rejected him he threw her to the ground and started to strangle her. When she pleaded with him, he punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious.

After she came round she had a cut to the back of the head but managed to raise the alarm.

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of rape.
