“Activity over the past days has included concentrated searches of the area where Mateusz died. We have recovered several items of interest to the investigation and those are now being forensically examined. My team has also been undertaking house to house enquiries and speaking to local businesses along with the community as a whole.

“Examination of CCTV also features prominently as part of the investigation. We are following up a number of lines of enquiry from information we have obtained and are receiving support from all quarters as we seek to bring to justice the person, or persons responsible for the death of Mateusz.

“Incidents of this nature understandably raise concerns within the community and I would like to reassure local residents and the wider public that a thorough investigation is being carried out. I remain convinced that information is held amongst the community which is vital to our enquiries and I would appeal to anyone who knows anything, no matter how insignifcant they think it might be, to come forward to speak to police.”
