Artist return to roots for exhibition
Former Wakefield Girls’ High School student Sue Morton had a career in teaching before becoming director of Wakefield’s Clarke Hall educational museum from 1992 to 2002.
She later ran her own historic buildings consultancy before leaving to concentrate on her passion for landscape art.

Hide AdShe now lives in Whitby and the majority of her work, which is in high demand, depicts the coastal landscapes in the area.
The exhibition of her work will be held at Westgate Chapel from 2pm to 9pm on Wednesday, May 29 and from 10am to 12pm on Thursday, May 30.
Mrs Morton said: “I’m fortunate to be able to live in the Whitby area, which inspires so many artists and craftspeople, and to work amongst talented, like-minded friends.”
A selection of her paintings will be on sale at the free exhibition.
